They seek legal accountability for January 6 Capitol incursion.
Seven officers with the Capitol Police filed a lawsuit against former President Donald Trump and supporters claiming that they planned what led to the events of January 6 in Washington, D.C.
Although three similar lawsuits were filed in recent months, the filing this past week is the first to allege President Trump worked in concert with political organizers to promote the claims of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
The action was filed in the Federal District Court in the District of Columbia. The Justice Department is also investigating the January 6 events.
